Adopt–A–Family Offers Help to Those In Need

In the midst of preparations for the holiday season, we pause to remember that the working poor of Thousand Oaks and surrounding communities need our help. Through the Adopt–A–Family program, CLU offices, departments, groups and individuals can make the holidays a little happier for local families.

Adopt–A–Family has become a tradition at CLU, and every year more offices, residence halls and groups participate. But the need continues to grow as well. The Christmas Adoption Program (CAP) reports even more families will be available this holiday to adopt as local social service agencies have received an overwhelming number of requests for assistance.

If your office or group is interested in sponsoring a family, contact Angela Rowley, Coordinator of Community Service, at arowley@clunet.edu or x3302. Those choosing to adopt a family will receive the family's bio and a "wish list" including such basic items as gift certificates for food, shoes and clothing.
