"Working at CLU"
Some of my favorite CLU stories relate to the camaraderie I have shared with my colleagues in the Offices of Undergrad Admission and Financial Aid. Working in close quarters, cubicles better fit for lab mice, we have shared so much laughter, joy, and teamwork relating with one another and common triumphs and struggles. From office potlucks to sharing adolescent admission application errors, welcoming new colleagues and bidding others goodbye, making team efforts to ward off demanding mothers (CLU Staff of 25 vs. one persistent mother) and agonizing over difficult admission decisions, our team functions truly as a team unit. I have loved and hated this experience of sharing so much with a group of people as diverse and united in purpose as our Office of Undergraduate Enrollment.
CLU students are really special. They are among things, brave.
Just as I imagined, great people, wonderful atmosphere, love the kids and I drive into the parking lot and feel I’ve driven home.
She ended up being one of my best student workers and would tell all students who got homesick of her adventure here.
Today, 37 years later, I still remember my arrival and do not regret it.
