CLU Hay Fever Cast Invited to Perform at American College Theatre Festival

For the first time in the history of the California Lutheran University Drama Department, a CLU Mainstage Theatre production has been selected to be performed in its entirety at the prestigious Region VIII Kennedy Center/American College Theatre Festival. CLU's fall production of Noel Coward's Hay Fever will be performed at Utah State University in February. The regional festival will include eight drama productions from various universities in California, Arizona, Nevada, Utah and Hawaii.

Hay Fever with its depiction of the unusual and rude reception given to weekend guests by the ultra–Bohemian Bliss family is Coward at his best. Directed by Michael Arndt, the play features a cast of some of CLU's most creative and talented drama students.

"CLU's selection by the governing board is a significant recognition of our program," says Arndt, adding that the students will receive reviews from a team of nationally recognized theatre professionals. As one of the eight productions selected, Hay Fever will automatically be submitted for consideration for a performance at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.

Two encore performances of Hay Fever will be performed on Saturday, Feb. 8, at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. in the University's Little Theatre. Admission to the performances is free, but a freewill offering will be received. For more information, call (805) 493–3415.
