U.S. Senator to Speak on Religion, Politics

The Rev. James T. Meeks, U.S. Senator from Illinois, will speak on "Do Religion and Politics Really Mix?" on Monday, Feb. 3, at 10 a.m. in Samuelson Chapel.

Considered one of the most dynamic and electrifying religious leaders in the nation, Meeks is best recognized for bringing spiritual truths to everyday reality with a daring, yet simple clarity. A national and international leader in social action and civil rights, he is also the first independent senator elected in the state of Illinois.
