"Theatre Arts helps student find career"

Anonymous

My favorite CLU story is about a foreign exchange student from Norway. She was an adopted child of Korean origin, raised in Norway. Her first few semesters at CLU were very difficult. Despite the fact that she was exceptionally bright and academically very successful, she had experienced a lot of emotional and social adjustment problems.

Gradually she became very involved in the Theatre Arts program and made very close and lasting friendships. She stayed in the US for several years, again facing difficulty in her attempts to start a career in film and television and theatre; again facing much personal trauma and difficulty.

Eventually, she returned to Norway but kept in touch through e-mail and letters returning for occasional visits. In the last few years however, her life has changed radically- she had a lot of success in her career in the European film industry, as well as in her personal life. Her letters are full of the joy of life and of hope for the future. She has since visited Korea and resolved personal issues that have apparently made a great impact in her life.
