Presiding Bishop of the ELCA to Visit the CLU Campus

The Rev. Mark Hanson, Presiding Bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), will be preaching at two worship services on Wednesday, Dec. 4, in Samuelson Chapel.

Bishop Hanson will preach at the 10:10 a.m. chapel service and again at a service of Holy Communion at 1 p.m. The service is an event of the Southwest California Synod of the ELCA and will be attended by clergy and lay leaders of the synod. The Rev. Dean Nelson, Bishop of the Southwest California Synod and a member of CLU's Board of Regents, will preside at the afternoon service. Both services will be enriched by the participation of various CLU students, instrumentalists and the CLU choirs. The public is welcome to join the University in welcoming Bishop Hanson to campus.
