Financial Aid
Basic Function
Under the direction of the Vice President for Enrollment Management and Marketing, serve as key advisor on establishing financial aid policy; provide strategic leadership for the University’s Financial Aid office; and oversee all facets of the daily operations of the Financial Aid office and to ensure compliance with the University, state and federal laws, policies, and regulations as well as funding entity requirements.
Representative Duties
• Serves as a member of the university’s enrollment team; makes recommendations, formulates policy, and provides insight into financial aid policy implications. E
• Provides leadership and oversight of financial aid office plans that support enrollment goals, and tuition discounting strategies. E
• Provides leadership to the financial aid and enrollment planning process, including
on-going research, reporting and assessment of planning process and outcomes. E
• Ensures the integration, coherence, and quality of financial aid planning and research activities for traditional, adult, and graduate student populations. E
• Plans, organizes and directs the execution of the Financial Aid program, including student (Federal, State and University) employment; assures compliance with federal and state financial aid regulations. E
• Provides leadership for student employment and financial aid operations, including personnel, programs, budgets and facilities. E
• Participates in and represents the University in national, regional and state professional organizations. E
• Directs the preparation and maintenance of a variety of narrative and statistical reports, records and files related to assigned activities. E
• Supervises and evaluates the performance of assigned staff; and plans, coordinates and arranges for appropriate training of staff. E
• Interviews and selects employees and recommends transfers, reassignment, termination and disciplinary actions. E
• Attends a variety of meetings, workshops and conventions to maintain current knowledge of policy changes. E
• Stays current on pending state and federal legislation and apprises University’s executive team of changes and requirements. E
• Counsels students and parents regarding financing a CLU education. E
• Collaborates with other student service offices in order to maximize operational efficiency. E
• Prepares and completes annual surveys and reports (including FISAP). E
• Serves as liaison between Financial Aid Office and auditors during annual review. E
• Performs related duties as assigned.

• Work independently with minimal direction.
• Develop and prepare comprehensive narrative and statistical reports.

• Operate office equipment, including the use of computers.
• Utilize information technology to exchange information with reporting agencies and to award aid to students.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree and at least five years of progressively responsible experience in financial aid administration. Master’s in education is preferred.
