Position Title
Coordinator for Involvement and Wellness Programs

Salary Range: $34,872 - $43,000
Basic Function
Under the direction of an Associate Director for Student Life, the Coordinator for Involvement and Wellness Programs is responsible for student government advising, coordination of wellness programs, and large scale on- and off-campus student programming. The coordinator is also responsible for the planning and implementation of innovative programs and activities that enrich the student experience and address CLU Student Learning Outcomes.
Representative Duties
Student Leadership and Programs
• Develop, design, and implement wellness initiatives and programs. E
• Advise an Associated Students of California Lutheran University group and other assigned student groups. E
• Select and provide on-going training, supervision and motivation to the student intern staff. E
• Keep accurate records regarding budget and program outcomes. E
• Participate in the implementation and planning of major student programs. E
• Manage and facilitate specific assigned programs. E
• Market events and programs, including website management and communication to the university community. E
• Facilitate appropriate assessment of student events and programs. E
• Contribute to the development of strategic goals for student programming. E
• Collaborate with other Student Life areas and university departments. E
• Stay abreast of current CLU, regional, and national trends regarding student leadership, involvement, and wellness programs through such means as professional association membership, listservs, relationships with other institutions, and attendance at appropriate professional conferences. E

General Job Duties
• Contribute to overall goals of program development and service to students as a member of the Student Life staff and as an active participant in staff meetings and the university community as a whole. E
• Increase avenues of communication with students by maintaining visibility, availability, and approachability. E
• Provide leadership on projects as assigned. E
• Assist students and staff with academic, personal, and social issues. E
• Make appropriate referral to various campus offices and personnel as well as off-campus support services. E
• Support division wide projects and programs, such as, but not limited to, Homecoming Week and New Student Orientation. E
• Serve on campus wide and Student Affairs related committees as needed. E
• Serve as department liaison with other areas of the University. E
• Assist in general problem solving and participate in campus crisis response, as appropriate. E
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
Master’s degree in College Student Services, Higher Education Administration, or related field. Consideration will be given to candidates completing master’s degree by August 2013. One year total experience working within Master’s degree program in any combination of the following areas: student government, wellness programs, large scale student programs, and leadership programs preferred.
