Position Title
Upward Bound Instructors (Multiple positions and disciplines needed)
Upward Bound, Math/Science Upward Bound, Upward Bound-CVP
Basic Function
Under the Program Director and Project Coordinator's supervision:

-Provide academic instruction and evaluation of participants in assigned academic subjects.
-Recognize and prescribe areas of needed remediation for participants.
-Teach core curriculum/enrichment classes.
-Help plan, develop, and implement an innovative academic curriculum.
-Help define participants' academic goals and motivate them to accomplish these goals.
-Meet with Project Coordinator regularly during AYC and SRC.
Education and Experience
-BA/BS degree or teaching credential required in one of the following core curriculum areas: English, foreign language, mathematics, laboratory science or social science.
-Master's degree, teaching credential in subject area, or Ph.D. with a minimum of three years teaching experience preferred.
-Previous experience working with underrepresented students preferred.
-Sensitivity, respect, and understanding of the needs of Upward Bound's educationally and economically disadvantaged students.
