Mike Sheppard ’73

Major: Business and Economics; Master’s in Physical Education and Health from Brigham Young University

CLC Athletic Record: Two-sport athlete. Chosen “Outstanding Christian Athlete” and “Outstanding Senior.” Football: wide receiver, named “Outstanding Lineman” in 1971 NAIA Championship game; earned NAIA All-District III honors in 1971 and 1972 and named to the 1972 All-Lutheran College team. Baseball: shortstop/second base, named to the NAIA District III team in 1972 and 1973. Served as captain his senior year and went on to play minor league baseball for the independent Portland Mavericks of the Class A Midwest League. Inducted into Alumni Association Athletic Hall of Fame in 2008.
