The Ode and the Night Ale

Beverly J. Morrison

The perceivable, passionate, gentle myth.
The believable hymn of generations.
The sacrilege of going against mother's mind
when it's wrapped so delicately around yours.
The switching of woman for child for man,
The animal waiting outside.
The time that the soul is slickest and soundest,
he midnight of eyes of birds of beer,
identity with chameleons, came lias, and camels,
Meant for, or meant, or
mend mankind's tatters;
strife for, or strive, or
thrive on what matters,
but understand
what it means
to you.
