The Cal Lutheran Experience

There’s nothing better than seeing a student who’s never made a drawing ‘get it’ and recognize that they’re a creative person inside. So often our creativity has been suppressed in our youth — brining it out can be life-transforming.

Opened in 2017, the William Rolland Art Center provides modern facilities for the Cal Lutheran Art and Multimedia departments. This venue contains spaces for visual arts such as painting, drawing, photography, ceramics, and sculpture. Also included are computer labs, video and audio editing suites, as well as a virtual reality and video production studio. A gallery space displaying student work is located at the entrance.

Spanish
Spanish major photo of student or faculty

I studied abroad in Granada, Spain, where I took all my courses in Spanish and lived with a host family that only spoke Spanish. This experience helped me greatly with my language acquisition and earning the confidence to speak it. Before I studied abroad, I was only minoring in Spanish but when I was planning my classes for Spain, I found out I would only need to take a few more classes to meet the major requirements so I upgraded it from a minor to a double major.
