Frank Rivas-Laguardia

Music Education

Frank Laguardia teaches music education courses at CLU. He has been an elementary school music teacher in the Conejo Valley Unified School District for the past 9 years. He teaches general music, choir and band to grades K-5 @ Ladera, Meadows and Westlake Elementary. Frank also is the Choir coordinator for the Conejo Unified School District elementary school choir programs. For the past three years he has also been teaching music education classes at the University of Phoenix.

Frank received a Bachelor of Music Performance degree from California State University Northridge. At CSUN he was a member of the wind ensemble, brass ensemble, and orchestra. principle trumpet for two years in these ensembles and also studied trumpet under ROY POPER.

After receiving a B.M. in trumpet performance from CSUN, Frank has been a freelance trumpet player in Los Angeles. To his credit he has played with the San Fernando Symphony, lead trumpet with the West Coast Theater, Master College wind ensemble, Lancaster Symphony, and countless others. Frank is a founding member of the VALLEY BRASS Quintet.
