Some of the most impactful classes I’ve taken in the IES program are “First and Second Language Acquisition”, “Creative Drama for Child/Youth”, and “Foundations of Education”. These courses have prepared me to create an extraordinary classroom environment that promotes student success through memorable and fun ways of learning.

Cal Lutheran gave me a lot of valuable opportunities to be involved within the Mathematics department, such as being a tutor, researcher, and departmental assistant. Influential courses that I took in this program, like Real Analysis, solidified my decision to pursue a PhD in Pure Mathematics.

My scholarship and creative work as a director and playwright helps to bring my students into close contact with the world of professional theatre. They can then make informed choices about whether they wish to pursue their own theatrical ambitions.
