In the exercise science department, I had the opportunity to be a member of a research team that studies the effects of concussion on the human body. I was able to study the neurological health data from approximately 1,000 participants! I had many hands-on experiences and felt comfortable asking for guidance from my professors at any time. The exercise science major paved the road to my dream of being accepted into a Doctor of Physical Therapy program by providing very comprehensive and competitive courses and experiences.

The summer before my junior year at Cal Lutheran, I took French classes for two months in northwestern France. I returned to southern France for the fall semester and continued my French courses in Aix-en-Provence. The idea of adding a language as a second major can be daunting to people, but without my French major I would've never had the chance to live abroad and communicate with people from around the world!

The Spanish Literature and Society course fascinated me because I had the chance to read literature from amazing writers who have shaped the Spanish language to what it is today. That is what was the most impactful for me - learning about all these great writers who interpreted their point of view on life in various ways all while incorporating Latin American history and politics into their works.
