I’ve always been drawn to community engagement, empowerment and service, so I study political science because it has fundamental roots in community development. Cal Lutheran’s program takes students into the field and also makes studying abroad very doable.

The Political Science department gave me a plentitude of opportunities to expand my knowledge within this field. I was able to study politics at Oxford University, immerse myself into Cuban culture and government, research droughts as a McNair scholar, and be a civil servant to minority groups through the Gallegly fellowship.

I took two full semesters before declaring, and I am still on track to graduate in four years with a double major. It is totally manageable and possible! It helps that Cal Lutheran has so many class options and is not overly impacted like some programs at other schools.
