The best moment in a math project comes when you finally understand why a technique or line of reasoning works after a long struggle with the idea. Encouraging a student to persevere and then giving them a high-five for resolving the difficulty is one of my highlights of working with student researchers.

The Spanish Literature and Society course fascinated me because I had the chance to read literature from amazing writers who have shaped the Spanish language to what it is today. That is what was the most impactful for me - learning about all these great writers who interpreted their point of view on life in various ways all while incorporating Latin American history and politics into their works.
