Telios: Leadership Orientation Program

July 12-17, 2015

Urban Adventure

This service-focused program will spend a week in the San Francisco Bay area working with multiple organizations. Several service projects will take place in the Tenderloin district which has become home to many of the low income and homeless population of San Francisco. We will be learning about the history of the Tenderloin, speaking with community members, and serving alongside our peers. This program will join the Outdoor Recreation program each day for some fun team building, leadership, and program discussions.

"Telios was a good bonding experience and a great way to meet other incoming first years in an environment that provided for lasting friendships and new experiences." - Morgan Telios '14

"I really enjoyed the service aspect of the trip, it helped me identify what area of service I wanted to go into and it also fostered relationships that I still maintain throughout the year." -Jeffery Telios '14

Outdoor Recreation

This recreation based trip will explore the bay area while partaking in different activities such as: kayaking, hiking, biking Angel Island, whitewater rafting and more! This program will join the Urban Adventure program each day for some fun team building, leadership, and program discussions.

"Telios was one of the best experience I had with Cal Lutheran because it quickly oriented me into life at college, gave me 20 amazing friends, as well as helping to develop my leadership skills which I have been using ever sense." - Dominic Telios '13

Both Trips will be traveling, living, and meeting together throughout the week and will end their experience with a 2-day camping trip. This camping experience will include an ecological clean-up along a riverbed and conclude with an unforgettable whitewater rafting trip (www.theAmericanRiver.com)
