CLA Member Ernie Sandlin was awarded the 2011 William E. Hamm Outstanding Service Award at the Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce Networking at Night Mixer. Named in honor of Bill Hamm, former Vice President for Admissions and University Relations, this award recognizes volunteers who provide outstanding community service.

Ernie Sandlin has been a lifelong supporter of the university. He is generous with his time volunteering for countless university and CLA activities.  He is a 1981 CLU alumnus, former director of admission and currently the marketing representative for University Village in Thousand Oaks.  He is very proud of the eight years he spent as the assistant football coach for the CLU Kingsmen. Ernie served as CLA president for two years and as recording secretary for one.

In 1985, the William E. Hamm Outstanding Service Award was established to honor individuals who have provided exceptional service to the CLU Community Leaders Association, the University, and the community.
