Chamber Music Program

A one-week high school summer day camp

Program Description

Located on the CLU campus, this vibrant summer arts experience will bring together 13 highly qualified high school musicians who will play together in three ensembles:

  • String Quartet - 2 violins, viola, cello
  • Clarinet Quartet - 3 Bb and 1 bass clarinet
  • Brass Quintet - 2 trumpets, 1 french horn, 2 trombones or 1 trombone and 1 tuba

Highly individualized instruction focuses on each musician's contribution in an ensemble.


Students will receive intensive chamber music coaching by recognized professional musicians from the CLU Music Department faculty.

Daily Activities

  • Private lessons with CLU music deptartment faculty
  • Supervised practice and 2-3 master classes
  • Ensemble rehearsals

Final Concert

Friday, June 15, 7-8:30 p.m.
Samuelson Chapel, CLU

The program culminates in a performance for parents and the community showcasing the three ensembles. A reception will be held after the performance.

Applicants will be evaluated and participants selected based on their audition and application. Ensembles will be formed by selecting the highest caliber high school and middle school musicians for each ensemble. Students will be contacted by June 1 as to their acceptance status. The program is limited to 13 students.


  • Tuition: $450
  • $150 nonrefundable deposit is due upon notification of acceptance
  • Tuition (remaining $300) must be paid in full by June 10
  • Tuition includes lunch Monday-Thursday and dinner on Friday
