My research focuses on a piece of software called HyperTxt, an HTML pre-processor. HTML is the language all websites are written in, and since its creation in 1989, it has seen little change in contrast to the way that the web has evolved. HyperTxt hopes to change this by making HTML more powerful and adding on features that other web tools offer.

As a Latina, I cannot say that I had read Latin-American literature before my classes at Cal Lutheran, where professors made a conscious effort to feature an array of voices.

The best moment in a math project comes when you finally understand why a technique or line of reasoning works after a long struggle with the idea. Encouraging a student to persevere and then giving them a high-five for resolving the difficulty is one of my highlights of working with student researchers.
