Class topics like adaptations to exercise, motion capture analysis, and exercise in different climates were very exciting because of their practical application to my work. Also, each class was very reading and writing intensive, which prepared me for graduate school by improving my ability to dissect a research article for relevant information.

Cal Lutheran gave me a lot of valuable opportunities to be involved within the Mathematics department, such as being a tutor, researcher, and departmental assistant. Influential courses that I took in this program, like Real Analysis, solidified my decision to pursue a PhD in Pure Mathematics.

Part of my goal as a professor and mentor, in helping students discover their purpose, is to nurture their interests. Because theatre is comprised of so many different areas, sub-disciplines and specializations, it's important to help the students discover their passion and desire within the industry. That may mean encouraging them to investigate a class they  may not have chosen to take on their own or exposing them to another area within theatre where you can see an interest in.
