Created in 1971 by Dr. Jack Ledbetter, the Morning Glory has continued the tradition of showcasing the best creative endeavors of the students, faculty, staff, and alumni of California Lutheran University. Over the past three decades, the Morning Glory has received numerous awards, including:


All American Associated Collegiate Press (ACP) Awards
1977, 1979, 1981, 1982, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003


ACP Pacemaker, 1982
Since 1928, ACP's Pacemaker competition has been considered by many to be student journalism's highest honor. All ACP yearbook and magazine members are eligible to compete in their respective national Pacemaker competitions, but must submit an entry. The Morning Glory received this prestigious award in 1982.
