I
the dogs went crazy today off into the
fantastic void oh, it's great to be away
beautiful and somewhat dazed and the
place seems slightly strange but it's a
familiar scenario
logic keeps you alive
movement makes you live
and nobody sings anymore
and nobody
and nobody
and nobody
until the speed brings you back
and nobody dreams anymore
nobody
II
pieces
you run into them occasionally
they are scattered about around some corner
until you kick them away
something you do well
and the beauty of it all
somewhat disgusts you and
life is wearing you down but
keeping you occupied giving
you the essence of the
incredible candle about to be
snuffed out
Ill
And here's to the burned out
the shattered, beautiful, bloodied and bruised
who slammed into the wall at full speed
who tore everything into little pieces
who battered themselves until they bled
who felt they were better off dead
who sent chairs and other pieces of furniture flying through rooms
who used apathy to drive the troubles away
who planned to live forever until they realized that they are born to die
who only hurt the ones they love
who howled at the moon because it is not always socially acceptable to cry
who drove themselves to perfection only to end up lost or mad
who could never get it right and wandered on while others did and wept uncontrollably
who vomited and bled and vomited and wept and vomited again
who tried to destroy themselves several times only to rise up like some glorious, deranged
phoenix, outraged at the soul's refusal to die
who dreads the return most of all who sets
themselves up for the fall who ends up at the end of
the hall shivering and alone
keep smiling happy people
keep smiling.
