Do you remember the innocence
The imagination in your mind
Do you remember the innocence
When all love was blind
Do you remember the guilelessness
When a python snake
Was a garden hose
Do you remember the guilelessness
When fun was eating Cheerios
Do you remember
When pretzel sticks became cigarettes
And you learned to spell your name
Do you remember a time
When you learned to ride a bike
When Candyland was your favorite game
Can you remember
Watching scooby doo and those crazy cartoons
When an old cardboard box could take you to the moon
Can you remember swaying on the swings
To be a commando leader until the school bell rings
I remember
Things were simpler then
Before girls became ladies
Before boys became men
When "boys could be boys"
And "girls could be girls,"
Now
We get sued
Just for saying those words
What have we done
And where have we gone
To turn what was so simple
Into what now is so wrong
