Piecing The Light
Robin Kathleen Mitchell
molding a dream with the happens of day
shadows of truth come out to play
untying the fears that hold shame tight
ripping apart thy lovely name
lifting eyes from the shadow of secrecy
shining bright on thy inequities
tipping the scale of reality
marking the soul with the injustice of sanity
sanity never found
interested eyes rest upon the results
results which bleed and tear
pinching nerves flinch from the sight
a vision of pain, a vision of night
daggers from the past point in all directions
piecing together a song of joy
notes of hope and dreams
exiting the moment with regret
regret to resolve, regret to forget
resounding a note of things lost
lost among the cloud of night
solitude floods mind thoughts
outstretched to feel, to touch, to taste
nearing the point of hate
hate of the fog, hate of the past
analyzing the past with a vision of truth
leaving results on the soul
incisions of indecision
tender wounds run deep
yielding to the numbness of the sun
driving away the night and shadows
isolating thoughts to the day
shadows haunt the edges
overflowing the bounds of light
receptive hands reach out to drag
dreaded memories out of sight
ending the darkness
completing the LIGHT
