willow
J.T. Ledbetter
willow
night willow
bending to the water
as light, as shadow,
willow
leaning against the wind
off the water
that touches hidden hollows
as a sudden breath
and lifts the long grasses
in the moonlight,
I lift myself in the darkness
of sleep
adrift in the dark pool
of my shadow
where you bend and touch
in low sounds of thunder
moving over me like the cold moon
floating in the dark water
of my dreams
willow
night willow
bending to the water
as light, as shadow
