The Light of the Moon

Michael D. Emery

                                                                        (While reaching for the stars,
she found the light of the moon.)

It was in the moon's light
         that she began her dance.
There was passion in her movement,
         like a lover,
                  calling without words.
         And the moon's light,
                  in silence,
         seemed to answer her call...

Lingering on her curves
         like a lover's eyes,

eyes that have traced those curves,
                           night after night
                                    in silent admiration,
                  eyes that know
                           where those curves lead...

The moons light slipped around her body,
         as she danced,
                  moving with her
                  and through her.

As she danced, the passion of her dance
was giving life to the light of the moon,
                  creating energy, and granting form.

And slowly the moon's light took shape,
         and found herself with body.
                  Then reaching out
and taking the hand of the dancer,
                  they both paused...

They dance now hand in hand
         goddess and woman,
                  and together they make love
                           with their laughter.
