That Special Someone
Jerilyn Johnson Frei
I found one day while wlaking in the sun
A cheery garden hidden midst the wild.
As though a child had planted every one.
Gardenias bloomed their sent was sweet and mild.
Oh, dare I touch their petals white and fiar?
I fear my strength will crush a fragile stem
Defenseless females perfuming the air
Alas my head is overcome by them
I must escape their danger is well known
We men are victims when they all unite
Outside that garden wall blooms one alone
And beckons me to save her from her plight
This lovely flower, tenderly caressed
Has won my heart, now, over all the rest.
