The World as a Dance Floor
Carrie Curtiss
The world as a dance floor is a crowded place.
There are the dancers who connect at their mid-point.
Who don't let go,
Who don't stop,
Who are never alone.
And there are the few who go from partner to partner,
But are always dancing.
Then there are the ones who hang out by the punch
bowl,
Who giggle in the corners,
Or stand outside smoking cigarettes.
Where do I fit in?
Not too sure,
But, I'll hang out here
And smoke a cigarette.
