'Kiss Me'

Darcy Culley

"Kiss me," she said, with a toss of her hair,
"But not on the cheek ... you know where!
I've waited so long for our lips to meet
Get over here now and feel my heart beat."

"Now Honey," he said, with a grin on his face,
"Shouldn't we start with a nice long embrace?
A cuddle or two is nice for awhile."
He said as his grin grew into a smile.

"Sweetheart," she sighed, with a gleam in her eye,
"You know what's best much better than I.
But just this once, please listen to me
And you'll find out what a real kiss can be!"

"Not yet," he said playfully, knowing he'd won,
"A bit of tickling sure sounds like fun.
We've got the whole night — why can't you wait?
Or is passivity all that you want in a mate?"

"Darling," she stammered, a tad bit put out,
Her playful manner had grown to a pout.
"If you can't kiss me right now like a man
I'll go out and find someone who can!"
