Hello-Goodbye
Ingrid Llewellyn
HELLO
stars of light, broken glass
endless warmth from smiling grey
no time
for fraction thoughts
of marijuana
shattered dreams, glued together
only images of reality
electric bodies, silent understanding
no time
for twisted skies
and brown skin
only early morning coffee
completed black
a different hello
windows, blankets, mohair,
a dinosaur
no time
for glazed eyes
and empty words
only silent touches of sand
and unspoken promises
blue becomes grey
night, dawn
whispering voices, exploring
as each echoes
goodbye
GOODBYE
dwindling light explodes
struggling words
dance on my lips
as I expose myself
soft, apologetic reasoning
reaches my ears, laced
with compliments, hope,
a kiss
clouds embracing flesh
words and touches absorb the pain
I listen and take
ecstatic
full and alive
tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow
the realization
the pain of
cracker jack words
black touches
and cardboard kisses
unspoken promises
were uncommunicated boundaries
a safety net for you
I say goodbye, to you
who can't
