What Fat Mothers and Daughters Do on Sundays
Nikol Matthews
At 12:00 noon, the curtains are drawn and the house is dark. Blankets cover the two couches
and the T.V. is on. Still in our pajamas, we get warm under the covers and eat popcorn and drink
Pepsi. We watch Fred Astaire dance in a sailor suit and chorus girls sing and kick high. Mom falls asleep and I want to dance and sing like the beautiful chorus girls, but I know I eat popcorn and drink Pepsi better.
