Time Eclipsed
Fred Bowman
If I had been there where He stood, Instead of here eclipsed by time,
If I had heard the words He spoke,
Of love and truth - a sign,
If I had touched the robe He wore,
Which later sold for gold,
If I had seen the piercing eyes, Magnificent to behold,
If I had felt the hand so strong,
Which held the world so firm,
If I had followed in His path,
Assured at every turn.
How then would I have faced the world, And looking back to see,
Found time eclipsed was nothing more, Than what was meant to be.
