Nana Goes to Heaven

Leo Briones

As she looked into her eyes
She saw a decisive sadness
beyond - and was reminded of years And then she knew it
- FOR HIS IS:
Though still gregarious, vivacious
above life and catholic
saying the "lords Prayer" everyday
she - so much as she could discern
has come to a time
to an end
- FOR HIS IS THE:
And she sat down a long, distant
dinner table telling of
the lesser and principal loves
but all loves, nonetheless,
All since past,
yet remaining cherished beyond reproach beyond the mystery
that recreates the reality
- FOR HIS IS THE KINGDOM
But still like a distant- dream
she sits staring, swollen eyes
sunken face, emaciated by time
a lonely lady - looking - waiting
for the second life
- FOR HIS IS THE KINGDOM OF Waiting to caress the only
two, real loves
she had in life
-FOR HIS IS THE
Waiting- for the newness
of- living the memory
of genuinely uttering
the "lords Prayer" again
-FOR HIS IS
Waiting
to be whole again
AND THE KINGDOM OF
THE POWER AND GLORY FOREVER AND EVER
SO LET IT BE
