your hypocrisy hangs on my conscience
like the smell of rotting fish
yes America,
consumer of the earth
gobbling its energy
its technology
its people...our own people
like the old black man with the case of government syph,
or the boys meatgrinded in Nam,
or the kids in jail for smokin', while the whitehouse
champagne flows,
or freedom in the form of a check, paid for conformity
or the KKK, CIA fat Chicago cops kicking yippies asses...
and all this is now,
not a hundred years ago
so sometimes, America
when you use goodness like a hold-up man's ski mask
I just want to poke a stiff finger at your heart
