Painted memories long forgotten revived by the imperfection
of a badly faded Polaroid.
A long lost puppy dog
with his tongue lavishly printed
on the magic paper.
Or a happy moment
during a chaotic vacation
at a place
you vowed never to return.
A mixture of emotion
from your child's graduation,
and then just pages later
but years in reality
the joining of vows.
With Uncle George's head drastically cut and bride's gorgeous wardrobe
blurred beyond belief,
recollection takes place.
The tape on the album
browned and crusted
and pages falling about.
A resolution is made several times over to remake this representation
of your long lifetime.
But like always, a sigh,
the book is closed
and set on the shelf
to start a new collection of dust.
