The Grim Reaper

I've met the Grim Reaper
He's a farmer from Nebraska.
Wearing faded overalls, a flannel shirt,
And with a polite accent he apologized for his doings.
He says he only does this to pay the bills
(He's got a son in college ya know).
He likes Merle Haggard and Ronald Reagan
And finds poetry a terrible bore.
He took me to the firmaments and we walked to its edge.
He spat out a gooey plug of dark juicy tobacco
From his mouth,
And put his sickle down.
He gave me a firm handshake and a hug,
And then Qod took me on my way.
