For Faculty
General Advising Issues:
If you have any questions regarding CORE 21 or graduation requirements please contact one of us or an evaluator in the Registrar.
Student Success:
You can refer a struggling student to the CSS office for assistance with study skills, time management, tutoring information, etc...
Classroom Presentations:
Do you think your students could use some information about note taking, study skills or stress management? We have several presentations prepared that might be helpful. Classroom presentations can be arranged with advance notice. Please contact the office for more information.
Academic Difficulty Notices:
We send out Academic Difficulty Notices mid-semester before the withdrawal deadline to notify students whose academic performance in one or more classes is below average (C- or below). All we need is just a little information from you, the faculty. When you receive the request for information for Academic Difficulty Notices, just reply by the deadline and we will do the rest.
Student Watch:
Any student on academic probation or students who were conditionally admitted to the university must be part of the Students Taking Academic Responsibility (STAR) program. As part of that program, we track their academic progress throughout the semester. We work with the students one on one each week to make sure they are attending class, turning in their assignments and getting any needed tutoring in order to succeed in their classes.
Syllabus Statement Regarding Students with Disabilities:
The following statement should be included in every course syllabus and has been approved by Provost Neilson. The statement is:
"California Lutheran University is committed to providing reasonable accommodations in compliance with ADA of 1990 and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 to students with documented disabilities. If you are a student requesting accommodations for this course, please contact your professor at the beginning of the semester and register with the Accessibility Resource Coordinator, Wendy Perkins, for the facilitation and verification of need. The Coordinator for Disability Support Services is located in the Center for Student Success (CSS) Office in the Pederson Administration building, and can be contacted by calling 805.493.3878 or emailing wjimene@callutheran.edu ."
